Colgate is launching creativity in Makers with a free take-home DIY airplane project. They’ve partnered with TerraCycle to create upcycled airplanes from toothpaste tubes. Give your oral care waste a second life! At Maker Faire you’ll have the chance to participate and create a free DIY airplane using Colgate toothpaste tubes.
Hitachi
Hitachi contributes to society through the development of superior, original technology and products, and delivers innovations that answer society’s challenges. Explore a few of our favorite technologies as we aim to inspire the next generation of engineers. Visitors will be able to use our scanning electron microscope to view various slide samples, take a photo with our Helio Castroneves Fathead stand-out, and sample the vacuum test demonstration result: a compressed marshmallow.

Come see a prototype of the bike that won the 2015 Tour de France and learn how modern technology and engineering from Altair improved the aerodynamic performance as well as optimized the weight and structural efficiency of the bike. See modern technology at work with product examples and simulations using Altair’s cutting edge engineering and product design.

Ford Motor Company Fund is sponsoring the Arts and Scraps mobile crafting experience. Guests will be able to create art from recycled materials – to then take. This is a great way for people of all ages and abilities to think, create and learn.
